Hello and welcome to the landing page for this site!

This site is a part of a final project. Students (such as ourselves) were tasked with finding and republishing unavailable or out of print short stories from the 19th century. In order to make these stories available to a new audience, one part of the project involved making a digital environment to present the story and our responses to it.

In the header is the name of our chosen story– The Kinetoscope of Time, by Brander Matthews. The Kinetoscope of Time was originally published in the July-December 1895 issue of Scribner’s Magazine and later republished in 1896 as part of Matthews’ collection of short stories, Tales of Fantasy and Fact, which can be found for free online courtesy of Project Gutenberg

Linked in the navigation menu is the text of The Kinetoscope of Time, biographical information about Brander Matthews and the history of the kinetoscope, a creative response to the short story, and a statement of intentions when creating this site. We hope you enjoy The Kinetoscope of Time!
